Ankitha her video

Guntur, May 17: The Praja Rajyam (PR) president, Mr K. Chiranjeevi, demanded that the state government send an all-party committee to Delhi to mount pressure on the Central government to accord national project status for Polarvaram Project.
As part of Praja Ankitha Bus Yatra, he visited Tenali town on Monday. Speaking to reporters on the occasion, he felt there is no need to change the design of Polaravram Project because the project is designed taking floods during the last 5,000 years into consideration. He also said he started the yatra for the benefit of the farmers.
Mr Chiranjeevi demanded that the major irrigation minister, Mr Ponnala Laksmaiah, release the letter he wrote to the Central government on Polavram Project. He said the government wasclaiming that it would complete the project within three years. He said he will meet the Polavram Project displaced persons on May 20 in Bhadrachalam and conduct Chalo Polavaram project programme on May 26.
The PR president said some political parties were trying to disturb his yatra. He felt that it is not good and suggested that if they want they can register their protest.
He criticised the government for planning to conduct Rytu Chaintanya Yatras to create awareness among farmers and said that the farmers were completely aware.
He criticised the government for its failure to provide minimum support price for paddy, tobacco, sugarcane, subabul, chillis and cotton. He also said due to the failure of the government the paddy yield was reduced to 1.5 lakh metric tonnes from 2 lakh metric tonnes.
Mr Chiranjeevi urged the Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, to extend a helping hand to the weavers and demanded that the government implement the recommendations of the Cabinet Sub-committee for which Mr Rosaiah is the chairman. He suggested that the government try to solve the problems of the farmers and the people instead of organising Punarankitha Sabhas.
He said though he was committed for a united Andhra Pradesh, the PR will contest in the ensuing municipal elections in the Telangana region.
The PR district president, Mr Lingamsetty Eswara Rao, also participated in the meeting.
